Equinor chose KAEFER Energy as the provider of ISS services for the Martin Linge field. The services include the provision of insulation, surface protection, passive fire protection, scaffolding and rope access, as well as opportunities for various additional services in other fields. Today, KAEFER also performs these services in connection with the completion of the Martin Linge project.
An agreement of great importance
The scope of work has an estimated value of approx. NOK 100-150 million over ten years and is part of the long-term framework agreement with Equinor. Bård Bjørshol, CEO of KAEFER Energy: “The agreement is of great importance to us, both in terms of activity, income and employment, and with regard to the further development of KAEFER.” Last summer, KAEFER Energy was also assigned the maintenance responsibility in ISS subjects for all five installations on the Johan Sverdrup field, which together with Martin Linge represent the latest Equinor installations. These are set up with the latest in digital systems, which also gives KAEFER Energy the opportunity to fully implement digital technology in the ISS subjects, as part of its continuous improvement processes. “Further development, through innovation, digitalisation and Lean, have been focus areas of our company,” Bjørshol emphasizes, “the investment has contributed to improvements in HSE, quality and efficiency.”
500 employees offshore for an expanded scope of work
KAEFER Energy will have up to 500 employees engaged offshore under the ISS framework agreement with Equinor. It includes, in addition to Martin Linge and Johan Sverdrup, the fields Troll, Åsgard and Kristin. The agreement represents several billions in sales for KAEFER Energy during the term up to 2031.
It is extra nice to be given an expanded scope of work. “We have achieved very good HSE results over several years and delivered efficient work execution with continuous improvement focus. We are looking for solutions to challenges to the best of all parties,” says Jens Tolås, Director of Offshore Projects at KAEFER Energy. “I regard the award as a solid recognition from Equinor for our approach and work, as well as the good interaction we have had with their representatives. We are both proud, happy and humble today”, concludes Tolås.
